Our history.

Pictura was founded in 1969, initially focusing on importing and selling yarn. In addition, knitting patterns were offered for the larger products. Over time, the company began producing reproductions and later decided to focus on cards.

The first foreign branch was established in 1975 in Norway, soon followed by Denmark and Germany. Pictura stopped selling reproductions and posters in the late 1980s to fully concentrate on cards, wrapping paper, and gift items. Today, Pictura operates in eight countries (Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Germany, Poland, France, and the USA) through sister companies within the group. Additionally, Pictura's products are distributed in many more countries.

Pictura is one of Scandinavia's largest suppliers of fast-moving consumer goods in the non-food sector. We provide hassle-free comprehensive solutions that help our customers increase profitability. We achieve this with a strong design focus and high level of service.

Sustainability

Sustainability report

To be sustainable, we must run our business in a commercially and economically responsible way that minimizes our environmental impact while promoting good social conditions. It is important to us to use quality raw materials in our products and maintain high standards that bring lasting enjoyment. For example, all our cards use FSC®-certified paper from sustainable forestry. We avoid materials that may contain hazardous substances. For some time now, we have consistently worked to reduce packaging materials and replace fossil-based materials with renewable ones. Our packaging is designed to be recyclable and support a circular economy. By shipping certain paper displays in flat packs, we reduce the environmental impact of transportation. We also optimize and coordinate both our goods transport and sales team travel.

Code of conduct

Pictura's code of conduct is based on ILO conventions on working conditions and labor rights, FSC® requirements for fundamental labor standards, and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. This means we have policies against child labor, forced labor, discrimination, and support freedom of association and collective bargaining. The products we sell are made by companies that comply with the ethical laws and regulations in their manufacturing countries. This includes laws regarding employee wages, working hours, health and safety, as well as environmental regulations. For suppliers in countries classified as high-risk by amfori BSCI, third-party audits are conducted as a basis for future collaboration.

It is essential that only approved and safe products reach consumers. Our products are made in compliance with relevant EU directives and regulations, such as the Toy Safety Directive, the regulation on materials intended to come into contact with food, and the REACH regulation governing chemical use in products. Compliance is verified through product testing conducted by accredited laboratories. We continuously keep up to date with regulatory changes.
